WordPress Blog isn’t on Google: Possible Yoast SEO sitemap error

A few months ago I discovered, that MeineKleineFarm.Net is not findable on Google anymore. This resulted in dramatically decreased visitor statistics, despite the fact the new content was created by me. I suspected a wrong sitemap configuration to guilty. Let’s find out!

A few months ago I discovered, that MeineKleineFarm.Net is not findable on Google anymore. This is really bugging me, since the purpose of this blog is to share knowledge. But a blog that is not findable doesn’t bring value to anyone. On the other hand, search engines like Bing, DuckDuckGo and Yandex index an rank this blog.

WordPress Login und Administration über HTTPS

Schon vor einer ganzen Weile, habe ich meinen Blog mit einem SSL Zertifikat ausgestattet, so dass optional der Zugriff über HTTPS möglich ist. Bis heute bin ich aber grandios daran gescheitert, den Login bzw. die Administration über HTTPS zu erzwingen und den Blog noch regulär über HTTP erreichbar zu lassen. Artikel dazu sind zahlreich und die Umstellung an sich auch total leicht, ich habe aber einen simplen Fehler gemacht, weshalb das ganze nie funktioniert hat. In eigener Sache: Jetzt auch über HTTPS verfügbar / Seafile Server

Im Zuge der Umstellung auf IP-Projects habe ich jetzt endlich die Möglichkeit Subdomains sauber anzulegen und zu verwalten. Dadurch konnte ich endlich ein Projekt in Angriff nehmen, dass ich mir schon lange vorgenommen hatte. Weitere Dienste installieren und den Zugriff über HTTPS bereitstellen. Als erstes Projekt habe ich mir einen Seafile Server installiert. Hierzu kann ich nur sagen: Wow! Klasse Produkt. Super Installation. Tolle Weboberfläche. Client für alle Betriebssysteme die ich nutze. Support für Down- und Upload Links!
Ich habe anschließend alles was ich bei Dropbox, OneDrive und iCloud liegen hatten da weggeholt und gesammelt in meine private Cloud geschoben. Da ich den Seafile Server nur über HTTPS ins Internet lasse, habe ich parallel direkt dafür gesorgt, dass dieser Blog auch über HTTPS erreichbar ist. Damit der Zugriff aber fürs erste nicht eingeschränkt ist, habe ich die Basis URL in der WordPress Administration noch nicht abgeändert. Die harte Umstellung auf HTTPS only kommt dann später.
